Alan
joined the Cloth of Gold in 2001. He attends the club most weeks mainly on a
Saturday to practice his field craft and Archery of coarse! He mainly practices
with his pal and companion Dave Lobb. He shoots Longbow most of the time but
just lately he has tried his hand at Traditional. Flat wooden recurve
(Mongolian type). Alan’s
other passion is the Towton Bowmen Longbow Society; this takes him to lots of
new venues with his bow and arrows to
meet his mates and dress up in Medieval gear, this he takes very seriously
indeed to demonstrate the power of the Longbow in those times. When they get a
chance to really get involved they re-enact the When
time allows and he is asked by the club to volunteer for work to put on a shoot
both his enthusiasm and effort is without question. He will tackle any job that
he is asked to do. It has been known for him and his mate Dave to go to the
Club in the week to tidy up litter around the woods. This kind of membership we
are keen to have. Alan occasionally attends local N F A S Open
field shoots and the Club Shoots. He attended the 2003 Master Hunter Shoot and
did reasonably well for that year it was a hard course. Alan
shot the S P A T A Game shoot at the Co. of Sixty on the 13th Dec 2005.Taking
home a jar of honey for his efforts. |
