Stan Seymour

Stan became a member of Cloth of Gold in 2004 after attending our Open Shoot. Both he and his wife Shirley shoot for the Dunstable Bowmen A C. When shooting field Shirley shoots both Longbow and B/B. Stan’s main shooting style is Freestyle but he has trained in all styles of Archery from the early 1980’s. He shoots regular G N A S tournaments both at County and local level. He has been County Champion both outdoor, indoor and GNAS field.

Stan gives lessons to beginners in the skills of Freestyle target archery. He is a member of the Royal Toxophilus Society He regularly attends the Cloth of Gold at weekends when time and target commitments permit. He tries to attend the Open Shoots we put on twice a year and has regularly been present at Club Shoots. For the past three years he has worked full time at Chilton Archery as General Manager where he serves customers and works in the workshop making archery equipment, For his sins Stan pleads guilty to introducing Lucy Holderness to Field archery, now we all know who to blame when you finish in the dark on a cold wet day. Still all is not lost she has been seen lurking in the woods with a Longbow. Maybe she has seen the light at last?

Stan is a very good shot and has won quite a few Club trophies and medals He was one of only two winners of a Club Master Hunter Patch in 2004. The other being Norman Bird Longbow Club Champion That year was a very hard course. He won the Wassails Shoot in 2006.
