what would be the best kind of archery bow for a beginner?
i really fancy taking it up please dont tell me to ask the archery club because there is not one near where i live
i have a huge garden where i can play
im 23 about 5foot 4 and 12 and half stone
ha ha ha did i mention it was for me not my child
Depending on if you want to shoot a recurve bow or a Compound Bow will be the first deciding fact.
For a beginner I would start with a mid priced recurve. You need to keep in mind that as you shoot you will need to upgrade to heavier limbs but that is another part of the story. A bow is truly a personal choice so giving you a specific type may not help you out. You need to try shooting the different brands and see what feels good in your hands. I know you didn't want to hear go to a shooting club, but that would be the best bet second best would be to go to several different pro shops and try as many bows as you can before you make the investment. I am assuming that this would be for Target Archery and not for hunting so a pro shop would be a lot better than a big box store, a bit more expensive but if you need help with shooting or repairs to the bow you would be in much better shape already establishing a relationship with the pro shop.
