How do I keep my arrow on the shelf of my Long Bow?
I'm just starting to dabble in archery. I am a traditional shooter, and I use a long bow. When I draw my bow my arrow keeps falling off of the Arrow Shelf. I've been told that I am holding/drawing the string wrong, but nothing I try seems to work. I wear a glove and I place the string between the tips of my fingers and the first joint. Please help me before I become too discouraged to continue!!
I also cant the bow to one side, but still no luck.
A good answer was to lean it to one side. Just make sure that you are accurate that way. That's similiar to shooting a pistol sideways. Some people can do, others can't.
Another trick is to hold your index finger along the arrow as your draw it back. Just make sure that you put your finger back down before you release.
