Which archery sight is better, pendelum or fixed pin?
I currently have a fixed pin truglo sight, but am wondering if a pendelum sight is better, or perhaps more accurate? Any help???
At distances up to 30-35 yards the pendulum sight will be accurate within an inch or two within that yardage. You will not be able to get quite that accurate with a fixed pin shooting at unknown yardages. How ever in the world of bow hunting any of the newer faster bows on the market will shoot flat enough to hit in the kill zone of a deer out to 30 yards. In the old days I missed quite a few deer because of the slow arrow speeds and not able to correctly estimate distance. With the older setups you had know the distance within 3 yards or the kill zone was missed.This is not the case with the newer equipment. However, it made me switch to a pendulum to achieve better accuracy at that time. It worked so well for me the next 65 bow kills were all made with a pendulum.I still use one even though the need is not so great now to have one as it was in the old days. Just go with what you feel would help you the most.But like I said, the better accuracy will be with the pendulum out to 30 yards or a little farther, depending on the speed of your set up.
