Bow Pse Brute
20 years of hunting, but this is my first time bow hunting, Problems choosing a bow package, any suggestions?
I'm 29 and this is going to be my first year bow hunting. I've been hunting in a boxstand with a .270 for most of my life. This is going to be a first and I dont wanna get the wrong gear.
I'll be hunting on a lean-to ladder stand and out of a doghouse blind with shoot through screens. I have about $400.00 available for a bow set up and ready to shoot, not counting arrows. my options:
-Fred Bear Lights Out
-Red Head Kronik pkg
-PSE Brute or Stinger pkgs
-Martin Saber pkg.
What do you guys think?
First thing is don't worry about who makes the bow package. ask to shoot the bows you're looking at because no two bows ( even if they are the exact same model) shoot the same. have your draw length measured. this tells the dealer how long to make the arrows. Make sure the bow balances in your hand so you dint have any wrist fatigue.
Also since you are just beginning, have the bow cranked down to the lowest possible poundage. your muscles haven't had a chance to get used to archery yet.
Second thing i wouldn't limit yourself to just these 4 packages. i would look at all in your price range because some of what you have listed above don't exactly come with good sights. a good sight can mean the difference between a shot or a pass up in prime shooting time.
Third ask the professionals wherever you go. sometimes you can build your own set for that much
it a good time you are buying your bow now so you can get some practice in before you go hunting
