Compound Bow All
I have moved my sight on my compound bow all the way down and i am still shooting to low please help.?
Hi i have a toxonics 5 pin sight and i am trying to get the top pin to sight in at 10 yards. I time after time keep shooting low. I have moved the sight all the way down but i am still shooting low. Can anyone help me? I have to hold it to like the 2nd or 3rd pin just to get it in the bullseye. Thanks for all your help. PS i dont know if it will help but i am 6'10 and i have a hoyt oasis compound draw at 60 pounds. The guy at the bowshop made an adjustment so i can now draw it back further. Low at 10 yards? Really? That takes some effort. I don't even know anyone that has a 10 yard pin. Usually you won't see anything below a 20 yard pin. Lots of hunters, me included, using a modern bow have a 30 yard pin to start. Most bows shoot flat enough that a 30 yard pin will cover everything from shooter to 30 yards and still be on game sized animals.
Reading what you have above, you've got the entire sight moved all the way down. You are trying to use the TOP pin to hit at 10 yards, and hitting low. But, and here's the part i don't understand, you have pins below that are on target.
You do know that you move individual pins to actually sight in your bow don't you? Not the entire sight. You just take the pin you want as your starter and adjust it to where your bow shoots. Done.
Adjusting the draw length won't adjust the weight of the bow, that is a separate adjustment.
You would probably benefit from finding a shooter and having him show you a few things. It will be a lot easier than reading and you'll probably be up and running in an hour or so.
