The Use of Selection and Subselection Tools in Flash

Flash boasts a variety of tools for animation and design. The tools look very basic to an average user, but a professional flash design expert knows its true value. Take the examples of the selection and subselection tool. Few people know what these tools are used for. Some users fail to distinguish the difference between the selection and subselection tool. Both do have similar functions, but they differ from each other. Let us understand the true uses of selection and subselection, their differences and similarities.
The selection and subselection tools are located on the top of the toolbox. The selection tool is the black arrow on the top left corner whereas the subselection is the white arrow besides the selection tool. The one common function is that both select objects on the stage. But, the approach of selecting objects is different. Each has its own individual use and options. The tools serve different purpose for designing objects in a custom flash web design scenario.
The selection tool is used for selecting lines, individual or a group of objects. It is also used for selecting color fills. Professional flash design experts click or double click the fill area and separate it with the outline. The selection tool has its own options like smooth, snap to objects and straighten, each having its own use.
The subselection tool is very useful for those who like to edit and morph objects in flash web pages design. The user has to click on the outline of the objects to reveal the vector points and their handles. Selecting a vector point and dragging it can easily change the shape of the object. The vector points allow designers to morph a circle or square and create many shapes out of it.
Although selection and subselection tools have little use in most areas, it can be a perfect flash web site design solution, especially if the design focuses more on illustrations rather than images.
