Hunting deer in Ohio

Hunting as a sport has grown rapidly in the United States in recent years, and Ohio is no exception. Several big game species thrive found in the different terrain in the state. White Tail Deer seem to fit anywhere well from the flat farmland in the north to to the wooded hills to the south. This is partly due to their ability to take advantage of a multitude to abstain from food sources. Ohio has some of the biggest white Tail deer in the country. The deer herds are healthy and well managed and as many as 6 deer harvested each year in some counties. According to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR), reported there are more deer in the eastern and southeastern counties than other parts of the state are killed. This may be partly due to the fact that there is less populated and access to hunting lands can be traced more easily obtained. There are large tracks of public land, such as Wayne National Forest, that are open to the public for hunting. But the small wooded areas near open farm in the northern counties where the hunting pressure low offer, the best opportunity for filling a trophy money.

Small game species in Ohio include waterfowl, rabbits, squirrels, quail, pheasants and Grouse. There are many waters in Ohio, that geese and ducks to win. A hunting license and stamps are required to hunt them. Cottontails are the most common form of rabbits. They can be hunted in season. There are a few snowshoe hares in northeastern Ohio. You're protected. Ohio has usually gray and black, but fox squirrels squirrels are found in some areas. Quail hunting usually a couple of central and southern counties is limited. The population of pheasants is also limited some circles with the right habitat. Corn fields are ideal places to find pheasants.
